Handling and safety of the Chevrolet Beat

Chevrolet BeatMuch has been talked about the braking, handling, and safety aspects of the Chevrolet Beat amongst the new cars in India. The dynamic and efficient suspension system - rear variety of Compound Link Type and front variety of Mc Pherson strut type – all powered with gas filed shock absorbers, facilitates in extra driving comfort as well as stability.

The sophisticated braking system enables safe driving. Using the Anti Lock Braking System (ABS), you can prevent wheel lockup during a sudden braking on highways or busy streets. You can easily manage unexpected braking surprises on the road with the front and rear brakes. De-accelerating of the car in high speed is thus a possibility due to the powerful braking system that the Chevrolet Beat in India comes equipped with. This is one of the key reasons why people have fallen in love with this car amid the collection of new cars in India launched during more or less the same time.

There are both active and passive safety features, enabling safety of the driver and passengers. In case a collision takes place, a cushioning effect is produced by the presence of Dual SRS airbag, thus reducing the impact of collision. Moreover, to add to the safety factor are the 2.5 mph impact proof bumpers helping reduce the impact of any injury. Clear visibility during the night is made feasible with the halogen headlamps. So, even if you are driving at high speed at night, the roads become clearly visible to you.

Car reviews on Chevrolet Spark 1.0 LT and Optra LT

Chevrolet Spark 1.0 LTI own the Chevrolet Spark 1.0 LT and I am all praises for this hatchback car. The engine performance and the handling are so well oriented. Even when it runs at 100 km or more per hour, the car doesn’t vibrate. I have tried other cars of other brands of the same segment too, especially of my colleagues and friends. And they do vibrate at high speed making the passengers as well as the driver uncomfortable. I often post my experiences on my Spark 1.0 LT as I cannot stop myself from sharing with you guys! The low price tag is no match compared to its stylish look and quality interiors. It is made of high quality steel, making it light in weight, facilitating it with the necessary balance, and ensuring stability even on the roughest of roads. I have also seen many a car review like mine carrying positive comments about the Spark.

Just as I post a car review on the web on the Spark every time I get time, my cousin who owns a Chevrolet Optra LT does the same. He loves his Optra LT just as I love my car.

According to him this sedan is outfitted with an All Wheel Independent Suspension (AWIS) system with XPRO protection facilitating easy braking and smooth rides. Powered with the Turbocharged Common Rail Direct Injection diesel engine, the Chevrolet Optra LT delivers a power of 120PS @ 3000 rpm.

A Decision to Buy the Chevrolet Cruze

Guys, have you ever visited the GM India corporate site. I have never imagined about the countless milestones achieved by General Motors at the international level. I read that the auto maker has been in operation since the year 1908 with manufacturing units at 33 countries at present. I happened to visit the GM India corporate site while I was trying to find some information about the new Cruze Chevrolet. I must admit, GM is an auto maker with a difference. Well, this company is not only prominent in India but also in 200 more countries!

I wanted to buy a sedan and after I saw the Chevrolet Cruze in the streets, I felt that’s the right car for me. As per the features and specifications mentioned about the sedan in the GM India corporate site and in other car portals, I made up my mind to send an enquiry for a test drive. The Cruze Chevrolet is powered with a 2.0L, 1991cc, 4-Cylinder in-line VCDi (Variable Geometry Turbo Common Rail Direct Injection) diesel engine boosted with a five speed manual transmission gearbox. Users in their reviews have spoken volume about the power, acceleration, and fuel efficiency aspects. And this is again the mileage that I want my car to deliver on an average - 14kmpl in congested city roads and 18.3kmpl on highways. When Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI) has released a report with the aforementioned mileage figures, I am very much confirmed about the excellent mileage of the Chevrolet Cruze.

Engine power of the Chevy Beat

Most of you buddies, I bet, will give more preference to engine performance and mileage rather than the exterior looks and interior features while buying a car. The power and torque of the Chevy Beat in India is amazing when compared to other hatchbacks. The 1.2L, 1199cc, 4-Cylinders, 16-Valve, DOHC, STEC II petrol engine, equipped with port deactivation technology, enhances fuel efficiency and reduces noise. A five speed manual transmission gearbox dons all the three variants of the Chevrolet Beat in India. And with the engine capacity, you can expect 80.5PS of maximum power at 6200rpm and 108Nm of maximum torque at 4400rpm. The best part is that even at high speed, say 100 km per hour or above, your Chevy Beat won’t vibrate. With such engine performance, the hatchback, I feel, will soon find uncountable takers. And I am already in the queue.

The colour schemes of the Chevy Beat in India are worth mentioning. You can choose from amongst a range of colours right from Linen Beige, Green Cocktail Metallic to Misty Lake Metallic, Moroccan Blue, Olympic White, Super Red, and Caviar Black. I have opted for the Super Red; it will outshine other cars on the roads!

GM’s saga of success at the global level

The niche that GM has carved in the auto segment not only in India but across the world is worth mentioning. Unlike other car brands, GM Motors in India with its Chevrolet brand of cars has turned as one of the most preferred automaker. No wonder the auto giant is the largest manufacturer of cars and trucks in the world. Every season the company has something new to offer and every offering is a true epitome of excellence at its best. Garnering the customers' enthusiasm through unremitting improvement incorporating novel concepts and features, the GM team has given a new definition to auto engineering.

With manufacturing units in as many as 32 countries, General Motors caters to the vehicle needs of over 200 countries. Its record breaking success was in the year 2004 when it sold almost nine million cars and trucks at the international level – the second highest total since its inception in the year 1908, setting industry records in the USA. GM’s highest sales are witnessed in Asia Pacific, Latin America, North America, Europe, Africa and the Middle East. The other brands other than the Chevrolet include Cadillac, Buick, GMC, Holden, Saab, Saturn, Vauxhall Hummer, Oldsmobile, Opel, and Pontiac.

GM Motors’ aggressive investment in high technology has given it a competitive edge in the market. The India chapter of General Motors started in the year 1928 at Bombay (Mumbai), the first automaker to open a plant in India (Sewree) for assembling.

The Optra Magnum diesel price

I have been planning to buy a luxurious sedan since the past two months but in vain as I was not able to make a choice. Someone advised me to go for a Hyundai while a few suggested that I should buy Honda’s i-vtec and recommendations poured in plenty. My wife has seen the Optra Magnum and she looked at the features and other aspects in addition to checking the Optra Magnum diesel price at one of the car portals and her decision from day 1 has been the Optra. I also checked complete details and found that the Optra price India compared to other luxurious sedans is far cheaper.

The diesel variants in the Optra include Chevrolet Optra Magnum 2.0 LS, Chevrolet Optra Magnum 2.0 LT, Chevrolet Optra Magnum 2.0 MAX. Additional lumbar support, tilt steering, optimum use of space in seats, two-tone beige colors, mobile phone holder, chrome alloy wheels/door handles, etc. appealed me. It is again the 2L, 121PS common rail diesel engine, improved gearbox, and lot more attributes that finally steered me to book the car for a test drive. Optra Magnum diesel price ranges between the Rs 8.74 lakh to Rs 9.99 lakh figure.

Welcoming New Cars in India

I shall prove wrong if I say that you don’t love cars. Given the comfort and convenience, today almost all urban families and majority of the population even in small towns own a car or two or three or more each. New cars in India are always welcomed with zest by car connoisseurs. I am a car freak; driving is my passion. Whenever I get free time, I zoom out with my family either for a long drive or for a picnic or for sightseeing. I never get tired. Almost all new cars introduced in India, except those really expensive ones costing several lakhs and even crores, are tried by me. You must be wondering how?

Once I like a car in the market, I buy it. Using it for a year or less, I sell it off with loss of few thousands and even lakhs. Then I buy another one and the cycle has been continuing till date. The latest that attracted me was the Aveo U-VA. I bought it few months back and have been driving it without any complaints. No car has yet left any cause of grievance. I am liking the Aveo U-VA very much. Though I am all geared to buy another car, this will remain in my garage, and I shall use it often. It is easy to zoom with the Chevrolet Aveo U-VA in busy streets and park it even in congested areas. Space, performance, fuel efficiency, competency and other features are all unmatched!
