Latest car I want to own

In the past one year all major Indian and Foreign auto makers launched their cars in the rapidly growing auto market of India. Among all these new launch cars Chevrolet’s Optra Magnum is the most admirable car. Magnum looks like Optra from the rear and SRV from the front. Magnum have diesel’s 2.0-litre TCDi (Turbocharged Common Rail Direct Injection) engine the new engine also has an Electric Vacuum Control Turbo, which further enhances performance and this makes it faster and more powerful than many petrol driven cars currently available in the market

The Optra diesel boasts additional technological innovations like a dual mass flywheel, which significantly reduces vibration while idling, and a balanced shaft module, which ensures refined and smooth engine operation. Magnum is powered with the 1991cc engine which gives the power of 121 PS @ 3000 rpm with the average of 13kmpl. Magnum is furnished with the leather upholstery, ABS, Airbags, tilt steering, adjustable seats and all other things which a quality car should have. It has enough legroom for the six feet tall man even with the front seat pushed back to the max. This car is perfectly designed to give a tough competition to its competitor Skoda Octavia. Magnum is Efficient, fast, comfortable, luxurious and the car a person want to buy

New Cars


General Motors has been a forerunner in bringing world class cars in India. GM started off with the launch of Chevrolet U-VA in January 2007, followed by ‘Chevrolet Optra Platinum’ limited edition. In April, GM India came up with the much awaited Chevrolet Spark' –a refurbished version of Daewoo's 'Matiz.' Chevrolet Spark’s best in the class fuel efficiency and enhanced safety features are certain to lure the car lovers. The saga continued with the introduction of Optra Magnum and New Chevrolet Aveo Anniversary Edition in the subsequent months. It is worth mentioning here that GM India has registered its highest ever sales in August since its inception in India.

The luxury segment also made a considerable inroad with launches like Audi’s Sports Coupe Audi TT, The 5 Series Sedan from BMW, Bentley’s Azure and Continental GTC and Mercedes Benz CL and S Class (S 320CDI L)

Among other prominent players, there were Mahindra Renault Logan' that hit the road in the mid 2007. Other worth-mentioning here are Maurti SX4, Grand Vitara, Ford Mondeo, Mitsubishi Montero and Hyundai i10.

However, GM’s Chevrolet Captiva in the premium SUV segment and Tata’s 1 lakh car are the most anticipated ones which are going to be unveiled during the Auto Expo in January 2008.

Chevrolet cars in 2008

Car buyers who had postponed their purchase till next year may have done justice to themselves and their pockets. The industry will see as many as 24 new launches in 2008, from 14 car makers across the country, with nearly all of them being unveiled at Auto Expo in New Delhi.

General Motors India is all set to launch the Chevrolet Captiva, a global premium sports utility vehicle (SUV), in January 2008. The attractive SUV with a seven-seat layout option will be imported in the completely built form from GMDAT (GM Daewoo Automotive Technology) Korea, where the vehicle is sold as the Daewoo Winstrom.

The Captiva is expected to be positioned to take on competitors like the existing Honda CR-V and the likes of the Hyundai Sante Fe that is rumored to be waiting in the wings to be launched here. In addition to showcasing this premium SUV’s global platform and technology, GM India hopes that the Captiva will also bolster the Chevrolet brand’s image.
